Associate Memberships are the Short Mountain Repeater Club's "value" membership level. Associate membership is tailored to those who are working on your Technician's license or Web users that want to access the training for the Technician's class exam. Associate members can access training information that not only helps them pass the written exam but can also helps them understand the basics of the types of radios new Hams might be interested in, what frequencies they can operate on and where to find other hams to communicate with. Access to the licensing forums is also included which helps you get answers to the questions you have about getting your license. They can also learn some basics about how to serve their communities with their new skills.
Associate Membership costs only $10 per year but offer no voting privileges at the general monthly meetings or any special SMRC meetings in which they are personally in attendance. This membership level can be upgraded at any time to any other membership level for the difference between the membership dues for the level at the level they wish to move to. For example, if an Associate member wishes to upgrade to the Active level, they only need to submit $15 with their application to upgrade their membership. (Active membership = $25 less the Associate membership of $10)
