I am an American and I'm a Ham Operator;
I am not bound by time:
I am committed to help in times of disaster;
I will check in to all called Nets;
I will attend all Club meetings;
And I will take my station at all Field Days.
Weather will not hinder me
But I may be late when a hamfest or tailgate is in the area!
JOIN THE FUN ON THE NETS!
Don't forget about the SMRC Nets! The Old Codger's Net set a check-in record on February 13th. There were 53 check-ins and N4LZY issued a record of 8 Old Codger numbers. The Old Codger's Net offers an early check-in starting at 7:30 PM and the regular start of the net is at 8 PM. SMRC also has the Info Net on Tuesday nights at 8 PM with lots of great info about upcoming events, testing sessions and the like. K4MBH and the crew do a fine job of getting the information out to you. On Thursday nights at 8 PM KK4DUP will take your check-ins and list equipment you want to buy or sell. Your equipment will also be listed on the website under the NETS > Trader's Net tab.
April Monthly Meeting Summary
State Representative Mark Pody presented Short Mountain with a Proclamation from the Tennessee State House of Representatives acknowledging faithfulness to our charter and providing service to our community through Amateur Radio. Representative Pody took time to talk to us about issues effecting Ham Radio and expressed his interest in helping us accomplishing our goals and mission. Representative Pody also talked to us about other issues of concern to us including our rights under the Constitution of Tennessee and our nation, and governmental spending. We would like to express our thanks to Mark for taking time from his busy schedule to honor us with this award and his presence. We also wish to thank David Sarti WC2V for his efforts as the liason.

As we go through this year, we expect to improve the www.shortmountain.org website and continue the development of the new member website www.smrclub.com. These two websites will serve different functions; the shortmountain site will contain public information that can accessed by all users of the internet and will contain general information while the members site will offer more detailed information and many features and services not available on the public site. We hope you are looking forward to the new direction, and we hope you will enjoy both sites. As you look through this site, notice there are a lot of tabs that go to the construction page. The reason for this is that these pages need to be built! It takes data and information to build web pages and its pretty difficult for me to develop two sites and fill them both with content and have a normal life at the same time. So I am making an appeal to you all to help me with gathering the content we need to fill these pages. for now, if you can write a brief description of the article or information you are submitting along with any full summary (if applicable) and links to the information source, I will put them into place. As time goes on, I hope we can work together in editor teams to manage both of these sites. If you would like to read a little more information on the subject please follow this link.
