Thanks to those who attended the first meeting of 2008 for the Short Mountain Repeater Club

1)  The membership approved WC2Z - George - to be chairman of our Field Day event. George is looking for your ideas on location. If you have any ideas or plan to participate and have some equipment you can bring, please let George know. His email address is on our web site - here

2)  I will be general chairman of our hamfest. Members approved KI4AYT - Dave as assistant chairman/facility and N4LNE - Phil as assistant chairman/activities. The "ShortMountain Hamfest at Gladeville" will be on August 23, 2008. We need everyone to pitch in and help a little so that no one has to carry the full load.

3) The membership approved the new bylaws with some amendments. The two major amendments are:

(a) in addition to charter members there is only one other type membership and that is FULL membership with voting rights. And in that full membership there are two (2) classes - single ($25/yr) and family ($35/yr).

(b) there is no restriction to any officer being elected and serving successive terms.

Remember - if you have yet to pay your dues for 2008 - Melissa would be happy to be in receipt of your payment.  Make your checks payable to the Short Mountain Repeater Club and mail to:
